Bursaries

The IBBS Council offers small bursaries in support of both undergraduate student projects and postgraduate student research.  The maximum distribution is £1,000. Undergraduate applications must be made on behalf of named students by IBBS members employed in higher education or research institutes. The research project must be related to either biodeterioration or biodegradation. Postgraduates must be IBBS members and they may apply for up to £1,000 research support or £500 to be used to attend a relevant conference.

Bursary applications will be considered two times per year.  Deadlines are as follows:

  • for proposed starting dates between 01 July and 01 December: 1st March
  • for proposed starting dates between 02 December and 30 June: 1st October.

For complete details regarding the application process, please use the links below to download the IBBS Bursaries – Applicant Instructions and the IBBS Bursary Application.  Complete and email applications to the IBBS Secretary – secretary@ibbsonline.org.  Applications that are not submitted using the IBBS Bursary Application, or which do not comply with the IBBS Bursaries – Applicant Instructions, will not be considered for funding.
